The Mission of the Visual & Performing Arts Department is to provide a sequentially oriented arts program for all students Kindergarten ~ Grade 12. The program successfully integrates art, music and drama production with the respective study of art/ music/drama history, the diverse cultural nature of the arts, aesthetics and arts criticism.


WE BELIEVE THAT:

* the visual and performing arts are necessary and vital components in the holistic education of our students

* the visual and performing arts teach students life skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, collaborative partnerships, effective communication, interpretation/ application and concept transfer

* the visual and performing arts speak a universal language and encourage respect for the cultural diversity of the society in which the students are members

* the environment in which we live is highly dependent upon the vision of the artist

* the visual and performing arts are reflective of the past, inclusive of the present and indicative of the future
