Twilight Program
Wilie-Workman,-Jr.-2008
Willie Workman, Jr., Coordinator
Jersey City’s District Twilight Program is in the forefront of nationwide trends toward smaller and more defined schools. The Twilight Program is a state approved high school alternative education program. Participating students from our four comprehensive high schools attend Twilight East and Twilight West. Students from Snyder High School and Lincoln High School attend the Twilight West site. Students from Ferris High School and Dickinson High School attend the Twilight East site.

Each site has a maxium roster of 120 students. Our mission is clear: to give students, who have not yet achieved success in the regular day program, a chance to advance in another setting. Instruction is proficiency based and meets the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. The lower ratio of students to staff (12 to 1) allows for a more informal, personal relationship between teachers and students, and a family atmosphere. The students follow the attendance policy, with a daily schedule that is flexible, allowing students to work at their own pace and allowing for enrichment experiences.
