REGISTRATION FOR THE 2007- 2008 SCHOOL YEAR Please call The Early Childhood Office. 201-915-6045 REGISTRATION FOR THE 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR Registration for three-year olds in the Contracted Childcare Centers is currently taking place. Please see the list below for your local center. Registration For four-year-olds and three-year-olds for the district will begin on Monday, May 5th - May 30th; However, there will be no registration on May 14, May 23, & May 26th. Registration hours are 9:00am - 11:00 and from 1:00pm - 2:00pm. Three-year-olds for the district prek will be for those students living in the neighborhood school areas of PS#'s 3, 5, 9, 16, 23, 24, 31, 33, 37, & 39. ***************************** The following is required at the time of registration: * Child must accompany parent/guardian. * Original birth certificate must be presented. * Children must be 3 years old by October 1, 2008 in order to attend our Contracted Childcare Provider Program. * Children must be 4 years old by October 1, 2008 in order to attend our District Pre-Kindergarten Program. * Proof of residency in Jersey City (utility or phone bill). * Child's record of immunization.

Brensinger Public School #17 600 Bergen Avenue, Jersey City Representatives from various community agencies were present to discuss their services and answer questions. Contracted Childcare Centers were present to provide an overview of their centers and to answer any questions you may have had regarding enrollment of three-year-olds for the 2008-8009 school year. Preschool Nurses were on hand to discuss health concerns and provide information regarding available services for your preschool children. Healthcare requirements for Preschool were explained. Members of the Early Childhood Department were available to answer questions regarding the Preschool Program as well as the requirements for registration for the public school four-year-old program. Parent workshops were presented for a variety of topics, such as: The Power of Play The Preschool Daily Routine Reading Readiness Begins at Home! Listening and Responding to Children Preschool Special Needs and much more. ***Childcare was available.
