Lincoln Lions, 39-33, loss in the Hudson County Girls’ Tournament championship game to the Bayonne Bees was a tough loss of the Lady Lions. In the opening six-and-a-half minutes, Lincoln managed only one point - a free throw by Shammane Rhodes. Lincoln finally picked it up. A 7-0 run highlighted by Zierra Williams' tough rebound and score inside the paint cut the deficit to 17-12. In the second half, Lincoln pressured the Bees, forcing them into turnovers and missed three pointers. In the third quarter alone, Bayonne missed five three pointers. A 6-0 run for Lincoln, led by Andrea Crute's drive to the hoop and Nhire Adams' layup, made it 27-21. In the fourth quarter, Lincoln closed the gap to four with six minutes to play. Williams connected on two free throws; Rhodes stole a pass and took it to the hoop to cut the deficit to six, 33-27, and finally, Indigo Hatcher connected on two free throws to make it 33-29.
