Preparing Students for the Future
Education encompasses the development of the body, mind and value of individuals involved in the educational process. At Julia A. Barnes School, our mission is to improve the educational achievement of all our students.
Based on the belief that all children can learn, our administration, staff, parents, and the community in general will work together to make this belief a reality. The primary purpose of our school is to develop our students to their maximum potential.
To that end, we hold high and consistent expectations for all students. This includes not only instruction in the cognitive skills, but in the development of the ability to think creatively and critically and in exercising positive judgement and decison-making. We further believe that the school must provide constructive, formative experiences that develop positive attitudes for learning, leading to self-direction responsibility and community concern.
