School Rules and Policies

Homework

• Homework is assigned on a daily basis, including weekends, and it is intended to be an extension of the learning in the classroom.
• Homework is also an opportunity for parents to be involved in their child’s education, staying informed of current classroom activities.
• Homework is to be completed at home, not during class time.
• Homework is designed to help students reinforce learning and help them become self-reliant, self directed and life-long learners.

Attendance

• The Board of Education policy requires students to be in school every day except in cases of illness, death in the family or excused religious holidays. All other absences are considered unexcused.
• Students must bring a note from home when returning from an absence stating the date and reason for absence.
• Excessive absences may result in the student being retained.
• Parents must call by 9:00 AM at 201 369 3376 to notify Ms. Baskerville of absence for the day.

Uniforms

• School uniforms are mandatory and must be worn daily unless notified in writing by the administration and/or classroom teacher(s).
• All shirt tails must be tucked into pants and/or skirts.
• Jeans are not allowed at any time unless parents are notified in writing by the administration and/or teacher(s)
• As always, we appreciate parental support and cooperation in adhering to our dress code policy.
