Our program, "Parent Resources and Partnerships with Education" will assist our parents in cultivating a learning environment for parents and children. It will offer hands-on experience that may translate to employment and advancement opportunities for parents. This award will permit us to expand our vision for assisting parents in preparing for the workforce. We plan on working with parents to research job opportunities via the internet, assisting in interviewing skills, completing work applications, acquiring appropriate clothing for interviews, and upgrading technological skills to suit the needs of the community, businesses and agencies in the area.

Computer classes will now be provided at the school on a regular basis to assist parents in entering the age of technology. As our students have enhanced their technological skills, we will be assisting parents to develop some of the same skills, increasing confidence and having a working knowledge of computer programs to enhance their resume. This program will be held after school hours when it is convenient for parents to attend. Students will act as tutors to help parents. The primary instructor will be a skilled computer teacher in the school’s computer lab who will enhance the educational partnership between home and school. We also anticipate this program will inspire parents to purchase computers for home use to encourage parent/child interaction.
