Young Men and Women of Excellence

Mr. Peter Riquelme, our Social Studies teacher, has initiated a unique club that focuses on character and leadership education. The club meets once a week. Students are currently taking courses on leadership based on the Servant-Leadership Model developed by Dr. Greenleaf. The courses encourage students to serve others while staying focused on achieving academic skills as well as character traits that will help them become future community leaders. Mr. Riquelme is currently working with a local elementary school. In the near future students participating in the Y.M.W.E. club will be mentoring younger students. This future leadership project will give the students an opportunity to practice what they have learned. As an international enterprise school, this program is being piloted as part of the Secondary School Initiative.

This program is bing piloted as part of the Secondary School Initiative, being that this school is an International Enterprise.
