Our Uniform Policy

At PS 30, our approach to school uniforms is to “keep it simple.”  Our PTA sells gym uniforms and golf shirts with our school name and logo, but students are not limited to these particular items.  We want families to be able to shop at whatever store you like and buy whatever brands you prefer.

To help us maintain a positive school climate, we request that students dress in uniform every day.

Girls

  • Navy blue skirts, slacks or jumpers
  • Light blue blouses or shirts

Boys

  • Navy blue pants
  • Light blue shirts

Students may wear whatever coats, jackets or sweaters they like when traveling to and from school.  However, we request that during the school day, they wear only the outer garments listed below.

Boys and Girls

  • Solid, navy blue sweaters, sweatshirts or fleece- tops
  • Please:  no hoods, no logos, no designs

In order to participate in physical education, students must wear sneakers.  They may wear navy blue sweatpants and blue t-shirts on gym days or they may wear their regular uniform clothing.

In grades 3-5, students who are not in uniform will have only a limited range of activities to choose from during the daily recess period.

In grades K-2, students who are not in uniform are given a reminder note to take home to their parent/guardian.

In pre-kindergarten, uniforms are strongly encouraged but not absolutely required.
