Thanksgiving Message 2019

Dear Parents and Staff,

During this month of Thanksgiving, when we come together regardless of ethnicity, culture or religious beliefs to express our gratitude for the gifts bestowed upon us, I have been reflecting on the things I am most grateful for. I together with many others in the organization are grateful for the talented group of employees and the great families we serve. As a member of the Jersey City Public School staff and the Acting Superintendent, I want to express my sincerest gratitude for the many positive things taking place in our schools.

Our success is built on a foundation of mutual respect and inclusiveness.  Every day dedicated principals, administrators, teachers, and staff nurture a culture of fairness, love and caring all focused on the goal of providing a safe learning environment for our student and their families. Thank you for the work you do to make the Jersey City Public Schools great. Without your commitment, creativity, and high standards, we would not be able to inspire our students to seek a future full of opportunities.

We will continue to strive for excellence in each and every classroom and every department to grow stronger by our diversity and to cultivate an open and positive climate.

May the good things of life be yours in abundance, not only at Thanksgiving but all year long.  You have my sincerest wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.

Franklin Walker,

Acting Superintendent of Schools
