The Students took on the persona and likeness of iconic Black historical figures such as abolitionist leader Frederick Douglass and boxing champion Muhammad Ali and brought them to life as a learning tool for other students.

The event, or exhibit, entailed the historical figures remaining frozen in a pose until younger students “activated” them. The pioneers in their fields, straight out of the pages of history books, then gave a “personal” history of their achievements and why they are revered to this day.
