This workshop will explore how teachers can facilitate and support “Math Talk” and student
discourse. Teachers will learn strategies to engage students through mathematical conversation to
develop and deepen students’ conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts.

This workshop will provide teachers with strategies to personalize learning such as record
keeping, student monitoring and offering feedback to students. Teachers will leave the workshop with the
knowledge necessary to successful develop a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP).
NEW TO GO MATH - TEACHER TRAINING
Getting Started with GO Math! Participants engage in a variety of hands-on experiences to learn about Go Math
organization, design, and resources, through direct instruction, guided practice, and cooperative exploration,
participants will experience the program’s resources both from a student and teacher perspective. The goal is to
build deeper understanding and confidence to begin implementing Go Math in their respective learning
environments.
New to Go Math - Teacher Resources
WRITING FOR MATH
This workshop will focus on the framework for writing meaningful and accurate Math constructed responses. Teachers will perform an error analysis task and use a checklist that will provide support to students when answering constructed response questions.
NJSLA
This workshop will focus on preparing students for the NJSLA while utilizing Go Math resources. The workshop will consist of understanding, identifying and creating NJSLA tasks utilizing GoMath materials, as well as gathering and analyzing NJSLA data to make informed decisions when it comes to instructional practices.
